　대현은 샛별이 여자친구 영주(전 Secret)에게 폭력을 행사했다고 오해했다.영주는 계속 저런 불량 아이를 아르바이트로 쓰려고 그래?라고 질책했고, 친구 달식(음문석)으로부터 아르바이트생들이 사람을 때리는 걸 봤다는 제보를 받아 오해는 더 커졌다.대현이는 샛별을 자르기로 결심했어.　그러나 모든 것은 오해로 드러났다.편의점에서 물건을 훔치다 샛별이에게 혼난 깡패들의 반성문을 받은 대현은 그동안 오해를 했음을 깨달았다.심지어 샛별이 친구까지 나타나 전날 밤 영주와의 얘기를 나눴다.대현이는 샛별이 술 마시고 놀기 위해 아르바이트를 빠져나간 줄 알았는데 아버지의 기일이라는 말을 샛별이 친구에게서 들었다.또 영주가 샛별에게 맞았다고 거짓말을 하고 있어 사실은 도운 것으로 드러났다.

　대현이는 미안할 때 샛별이가 경찰서에 있다고 들었어.샛별이 술에 취한 중년 남자 손님과 말다툼을 벌였다고 한다.남자 손님이 격려 차원에서 딸 같으니 손을 잡아줬다고 하자 대현은 딸 같다는 말을 함부로 하지 말아 달라.듣는 사람에 따라 마음이 찢어지는 말이 될 수 있다며 성추행 아저씨, 우리 아르바이트생에게 사과하세요라고 샛별 편을 들었다.　집에 가는 길에 대현이는 영주와의 얘기를 꺼내며 왜 오해라고 말하지 않았느냐며 샛별이에게 사과했다.샛별은 부모님도 없고 학교도 그만둔 아이야.누가 믿어줄 것 같니?라고 답했다.대현은 믿어주는 사람이 왜 없냐? 내가 있잖아.내가 믿어주겠다며 샛별을 감동시켰다.　대현이는 이어 화난 게 아니라 혼내는 것이라며 샛별이를 걱정하고 있음을 전했다.샛별이는 돌아간 아버지를 떠올렸어.아버지가 돌아가신 뒤 샛별은 쓸쓸히 지내온 것이었다.샛별은 자신을 꾸짖어 주고 걱정해 주고 아군이 되어 주는 대현을 새삼 좋아할 수밖에 없었다.
